The Anglo-Saxons
QUESTION 1: The story of Beowulf was a very interesting but boring novel. It would give you a good battle scene to read but it would bore u when it goes off the topic of Beowulf. This story is about the trials of Beowulf not about the other people it talks about. Beowulf is the type of person that i would like to have around cause he is trustworthy, brave, and also really strong. The story in general is a really good fictional story, it will make you seem like you there after you get pass the difficulty of the reading. I would recommend it to people who enjoy fictional stories. The Anglo-Saxon's culture is very discreet with its warrior tradition, it kind of reminds you of the crypts or the bloods with all the kings and how they show loyalty to their kings. I like there culture especially because it involves being a warrior and knowing how to fight fighting.
QUESTION 2: The Anglo-Saxon's culture believes corresponded with Beowulf through its warrior tradition. One example of it is when Beowulf was loyally to his country but set out to help a unknown stranger in battle("The one who, out of pride, risked his life in the deep water though both friends and enemies told you it was too dangerous"). Another is his strong believe in god(" Light shone from the East, that bright beacon of God, and the seas subsided"). The last example is how he believe that his gods would help him in all his fights("God, as men learned, had chosen a man who could fight Grendel. The chief of the Geats, indeed, trusted his strength and God's favor").
QUESTION 3: Beowulf is similar to super man cause he protects and serves no matter what the situation is("I resolved when I set to sea in my boat with my warriors that I, alone, will fulfill the wish of your people. . .or die in the foe's grasp.,") and how he is different is because he give praise to god before and after a fight.
QUESTION 4: Beowulf death was shocking to me. He suppose to be the world famous and skilled full warrior and he was stupid enough to get scorch by the dragon. I had a feeling that the story would end that way cause in story like this nobody really lives. Reading stories from this time era really makes me think what if i grew up in this time, would i be a great warrior or a peasant. I enjoy the battle scenes in the story, when I'm reading i put my self in that time era causing me to really get stuck on that particular book.
